Notes for Thursday, May 24

Math:

·       End-of-semester tests

·       Final basic facts 3 minute tests tomorrow!

·       No HL

Reading:

·       Shark Lady

·       Shark words spelling test tomorrow

Science:

·       Shark facts

·       Erupted volcanoes! The kids did a great job… and thank you to the parents who helped! It required a few hands to make it run more smoothly. I have short video clips of each child as he/she erupts the volcano. I will work on getting them posted to the blog.

Notes for Monday, May 21

Math:

·        Worked on 2 segments of the end of semester math tests

·        Basic facts final check on Thursday! Please practice!

Reading:

·        New spelling words (final ones!) ~ Shark vocabulary, test on Friday

·        Shark Lady, the biography of Eugenie Clark. The kids started pictures for character traits for sharks and Eugenie as we read through this book!

Science:

·        Painted volcanoes

·        Introduction to sharks ~ What do we already know? What do we want to learn?

Other Items to Note:

·        Saints North skating field trip permission due

·        Volcanoes on Thursday – look for videos on the blog when we are done!

·        Reading MAP testing on Wednesday morning

Notes for Friday, May 18th

Reading:

·       Spelling test

Math:        

·       Review of measuring the weight of different objects

·       Looked at different types of scales

·       HL 10.3

Other Items to Note:

·       Walk-a-thon posters

·       Science test on volcanoes & earth’s changes

·       Walk-a-thon – look for pictures on the blog soon!

·       Relaxed and cooled off with fresh fruit (bananas and apples) and a little bit of Milo and Otis

·       Semester skill review

·       Stations

·       Sculpted volcanoes today! Look for pictures on the blog!

·       Thank you to Monica Nepote, Kate Weed, and Rachel Stevens for helping in class!

·       Thank you to Kris Hackbart for locating and picking up the clay!

Other Items to Note:

·       Spelling test tomorrow

·       Science test tomorrow

·       Walk-a-thon @ 1:30 pm. It is supposed to be hot! Please put sunscreen on if possible, bring water, a hat (if you have one), and wear your tennis shoes.

·       Saints North field trip due tomorrow – please let me know if you need an additional permission form.
